Lineside Matters
One of the things I enjoy most about modelling is the detail. It is the little things you can observe in the permanent way
that seem to set a model railway apart from a train set. I'm no snob, I just like to model, sometimes I go out to the garage and don't even run a train,
it's about the modelling for me!
To that end, here is a page dedicated to those little bits that are the Lineside Detail
First up is something that more and more people seem to rightly be adding to there PW,Cable troughs. I use a simple method, I cut 8mmx4mm pieces of 1mm
plasticard and glue it in place. I have no idea if this is the right scale size but it works to my eye so there you go!
Here's a little stretch up the middle of the track at Folketone West

Next up, Peco Dummy point motors, simple little things that I have seen similar looking ones of at Ramsgate so I intend to use them throughout.
Simply painted with a base of grey primer, then a coat of very pale grey, then smeared with sleeper grime. I have also added some wire for cabling.
Botyh these bits are temporary until I have ballasted when they will be stuck on top of the ballast

More Peco.. AWS ramps this time, painted with weathered black then sprayed lightly with sleeper grime

Here are some drain covers that can be found at Folkestone West. The actual covers are nothing like this, but these etches from Brassmasters do
a good job for me. The base is made from plasticard and is a hole so you can see into the drain.. stickler for detail me!!

AWS Boxes this time, can't remember the maker but if I do I'll add that.. they have just been painted with grey primer then attacked with Railmatch
Light Rust

The observant among you will have noticed the Brassmasters Cosmetic Fishplates, give yourself 5 points
