Welcome to the Southern Electric Modelling website, hopefully if you are reading this then you like what I do and are likely to be stoppping by to follow my progress.

This is the folly of journeying into the techniligy of DCC and PC control, as well as slavishly trying to model to prototype. Model railways are for life, not just for Christmas!!!

The website is an online journal of my model rail layout and associated projects. I have been modelling since 2005 when I was given a Hornby Western Set. I started in the loft building an 8x4 foot layout on 2 levels but soon got tired and a great expansion was planed. I extended the loft to an 11x12 foot inverted figure of eight layout using Peco code 100 flexi track and long points. This was a DC layout with working point motors and LED control panel and at some point may feature on this site with its own page.

I am now living in the garage so to speak. Begun in early 2008, this site will focus on the process of fitting out and building this model layout.

Using Ramsgate and Folkestone West as locations to model this will be a 3rd rail layout running Electric Multiple Units. As I am still in the process of building a 4 CEP and have a 2EPB not begun, so I will be conceeding the strict policy of electric stock with Running the stock I do have, mostly consisting of BR Blue Diesels and Blue Grey Rolling Stock and some NSE liveried items too.
